Global Remittance 2019


Global remittance, including high-income countries is projected @ $700 billion in 2019;

Remittances to developing countries is projected @ $550 billion, with $150 billion to Southeast Asia;

Remittance to this region has grown by 6% in 2018 to $142 billion, 1.5% higher than the growth rate in 2017. 2019 and 2020, a growth of 4.5% and 4.8% is expected;

Remittance flow Worldwide: Europe and Central Asia (20%), South Asia (13.5%), Sub-Saharan Africa (9.8%), Latin America and the Caribbean (9.3%), the Middle East and North Africa (9.1%), East Asia and the Pacific (6.6%);

Top receiving countries are India ($75 billion), China ($64 billion), Philippines and Mexico ($33 billion each), Egypt ($25 billion) and Nigeria ($25 billion);
